He said he is comfortable with Commissioner McKee's motion.
Commissioner McKee withdrew his motion, and instead made a motion for option 1 to
be the preferred option.
Chair Dorosin said if the option 1 stands alone, it may decrease the value of the other
information that the Board desires.
Commissioner McKee said to let his original motion stand.
VOTE: Ayes, 4 (Commissioner McKee, Commissioner Jacobs, Commissioner Burroughs,
Commissioner Price); Nays, 3 (Commissioner Rich, Commissioner Marcoplos, Chair Dorosin)
b. He said two things lead to the adjustment of the project budget: the bond
proceeds and distribution changed over time; and the construction costs have increased (from
2013). He said the Lincoln Center project is now estimated at $25 million, and Chapel Hill High
is now at $47 million now.
Commissioner Rich referred to a turn lane that is required by the Chapel Hill Town
Council, and asked if the funding source for this project has been identified.
Todd LoFrese said this expense will come from project budget.
Commissioner Rich asked if this was already budgeted into the Lincoln Center project.
Todd LoFrese said no, not to the extent required by the Town Council. He said a traffic
study has been required as well.
Commissioner Rich asked if it is known who will measure the traffic flow, and what
further recommendations will be made.
Todd LoFrese said he does not know what else may be recommended, but the district
will pay a traffic consultant of the Town's choosing to do a study. He said he does not know
what recommendations would result from the study.
