INTRODUCTION <br /> I <br /> Airport noise control planning is a central elementl of the DOT/FAA <br /> Aviation Noise Policy. As we begin this Seminar , we shall discuss the <br /> policy in the context of "Legislative and Administrative Mandates for <br /> !1! <br /> Noise Control ." This Seminar is one element of the FAA' s technical <br /> assistance program and , by virtue of the range of experience and <br /> responsibilities of participants , helps provide a medium foir exchange of <br /> information , experiences , and points of view. The Seminar will also <br /> contribute to the FAA 's forthcoming "Guidance Document on Airport Noise <br /> Control . " <br /> The DOT/FAA Aviation Noise Policy describes the respon4ibilities of <br /> the many participants in aviation noise abatement .
