44� <br /> 3 <br /> Pursuant to Federal law signed October 13, 1982, the JTPA will replace <br /> CETA (Comprehensive Employment and Training Act) September 30, 1983. <br /> Chairman Whitted, who had been representing the Board, along with Manager <br /> Ken Thompson, in discussions on JTPA, made the presentation and answered ques- <br /> tions. Commissioner Walker moved, Commissioner Marshall seconded joining a <br /> multicounty and city consortium that includes Chatham, Person, Durham, Orange <br /> and Granville counties. VOTE: Unanimous. <br /> c-lV appointments <br /> Health Board: Commissioner Lloyd moved, Commissioner Walker seconded the <br /> appointment of Evelyn Lloyd, Dr. Eugene Bowden and Dr. Robert Murphy. Lloyd <br /> and Bowden were appointed; agreed to carry over the third appointment. VOTE: <br /> odaoimnus. <br /> Commission for Women: Commissioner Marshall moved, Commissioner Willhoit <br /> seconded the appointment of Lani Cartier to a three (3) year term, Dana Baldwin <br /> • <br /> reappointed to a three (3) year term and Claudine Harris reappointed to a one- <br /> year tecm, VOTE: Unanimous <br /> Senior Citizen ooard appointments were held over; a better geographical <br /> choice was needed. <br /> Energy Commission Appointments were tabled until next meeting. <br /> Industrial Facilities and Pollution Control Authority: had been adver- <br /> tised; no applicants had been received. <br /> Clerk requested to contact applicants for Economic Development Commission. <br /> Clerk reminded to advertise for upcoming vacancies. <br /> C-11 89p» <br /> Commissioner Whitted moved, Commissioner sacsball seconded the uppointmeu <br /> of Sharon Allison as Acting Clerk. <br /> With no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was <br /> adjourned. <br /> Richard E.
