ORANGE COUNTY <br /> BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS Action Agenda <br /> ACTION AGENDA ITEM ABSTRACT Item Dmrim DATE June 6, NR1 <br /> Subject: Noise Ordinance <br /> Departmnt: , -1 I Public Hearing: yes _ X noj <br /> Attachments : Information Contact: <br /> Yes Orange County Manager's Office <br /> Phone Number: 732-8181 ext 501 <br /> PURPCSB: For the Board to receive and review a proposed Resolution and Ordinance to <br /> provide for the control of noise in Orange County. <br /> NEED: Numerous citizens have requested that the County adopt a Noise Ordinance <br /> to control amplified sound when it creates a disturbance in adjoining <br /> neighborhoods. <br /> IMPACT: The Ordiance establishes permissible levels of sound which cannot he <br /> exceeded lunless a permit is obtained from the County. <br /> Certain activities are specified in the Ordinance as being exempt from <br /> the permissible levels of sound. <br /> Enforcement of the Ordinance will be the responsibility of the Sheriff's <br /> Department. The Sheriff has concurred in the measures specified. <br />
