C. <br /> 27278 <br /> WHEREAS, the North Carolina Department of Natural Resources and Community <br /> Development has received federal funds from the Small Business <br /> Administration for Parks and Recreation Area Development Grant <br /> Program; and <br /> WHEREAS; the County of Orange and its governing Board of County Commissioners <br /> realizes that aesthetic recreation parklands and areas are vital <br /> to the quality of life of its citizenry in their desires for open <br /> space(s) ; and <br /> WHEREAS, the County further recognizes its low percentage of countywide <br /> unemployment (approximatley 3.6) ; and <br /> WHEREAS, the successful achievement of funding may not occur due to this <br /> low rate, does still, seek out funding for the site improvement <br /> of its central recreation area in the Historic District of the <br /> Tawp of Hillsborough; and <br /> WHEREAS, it is deemed responsible to provide adequate and aesthetic buffers <br /> forlsaid district of preservation, so as to render leisure <br /> opportunity in a most satisfying and accommodating manner. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Orange County Board of County <br /> Commissioners, acting through its agent, R. Wayne Weston, <br /> Director of Recreation and Parks, does hereby authorize the <br /> filing of the Small Business Administration application requesting <br /> funding for beautification and buffers to the Central Recreation <br /> Center's grounds and areas. <br /> This the 2711 day of May, 1983. <br /> 001° <br /> Richard E.
