Orange Clounty should adopt a policy which rP11..t; for minimizing total 1 <br /> ! <br /> outflows:of water from one major basin to another. <br /> . adopted S/23/82 , . <br /> : <br /> 2. Orange County Should allocate the water it has rights over in Lake <br /> Orange to the Tom of Hillsborough, the OrenV-A/armance Water Systems <br /> incorporated, and the in-stream flaw new of the Eno Myer. Me <br /> - - MCC noted that this was a long tern goal.) . <br /> adopted 8/23/82 <br /> 3. Orange County Should develop policies requiring water conservation <br /> in both the receiving and withdrawal basins Where interbasin trans- <br /> fers of water are required to meet emergency situations. <br /> 1 adopted e123/62 . <br /> 4. The Task Force Report has identified five prime reservoir sites in <br /> the County. Local water suppliers should identify which of these <br /> sites they would like preserved for future use. Orange. County should investigate the feasibility of a regional solution <br /> to itsifuture water needs. These protected areas Should be University <br /> Lake watershed, Upper Eno watershed which drains to Lake Ben Johnson, <br /> and the watershed of prceosed Cane Creek reservoir. <br /> i 1 <br /> The BCCC had acted previously on this recormendation when it adopted the <br /> Land Use Plan on September 6, 1962. <br /> . 8. Orange County should adopt a Land Use Plan and associated regulations <br /> whichipreserve and enhance water quality in protected watersheds.
