This ordinance requires <br /> that precautions be taken to pervent damage by soil erosion or sedimentation regard- <br /> less of the amount of land disturbance. When the amount of land disturbance exceeds <br /> 20,000 square feet, the property owner or his agent is required to obtain the <br /> necessary permits and to pay the appropiate fees. Generally, permits and fees are • <br /> required when the length of the Private Road exceeds 1,000 feet for a Class C road, <br /> 770 feet for a Class B road or 570 for a Class A road. The permit must be <br /> obtained before construction begins. Contact the Erosion Control Officer for <br /> assistance. <br /> -GENERAL SUBDIVISION APPROVAL SEQUENCE <br /> Submit request for subdivision and Private Road to Orange County Planning <br /> Department. Check proposed road name with Planning Department list to avoid <br /> duplication. <br /> Apply fbr grading permit if land disturbance invlbves more than 20,000 <br /> square feet. ft'- <br /> :r <br /> Receive subdivision approval. <br /> Construct road to Orange County standards or post security bond for <br /> I. <br /> construction of the road. 11, <br /> Record final subdivision plat with Register of Deeds. <br /> , 7 <br /> GENERAL CONSTRUCTION SEQUENCE <br /> Contact Planning Department before beginning construction so inspections <br /> can be scheduled. Remove all trees, stumps, roots and other vegetation from the <br /> width of right-of-way necessary to construct the road to the required dimensions. <br /> Fill and compact all depressions created by clearing. <br /> 1 <br /> Build roadbed to required dimensions, cutting, filling and compacting where <br /> necessary for a desirable grade. <br /> Install culverts to provide cross drainage. <br /> Construct side ditches and crown travelway. <br /> Place and compact 4" of surface material. <br /> ""'•• <br /> Seed and mulch disturbed areas.
