The number of operat
[
ons
Jmidimmillim- effects the number of motor vehicle trips which would take place on
Hwy 54 and would also effect the size of the noise contours generated by the
aircraft using the facility. By restricting the number of flight training operations
the Planning Staff believes that the number of motor vehiCle trips .on Hwy 54 can be
kept downliadd the amount of noise generated by airplanes. The Planning Staff
would defer to |8nuc Matthews' figures for motor e r vehicle trips c ps cpntainod in a
letter dated 6430/82, in which he estimated the number of vehicle trips per day
to be between 9 14 5 (based on the number of operations) to 1600 trips (based on the
number of based aircraft) . Matthews indicated the the North Carolina Department of
Transportation felt-more comfortable with the trip generation figure based on
operations.
The area included in noise contours around the airport expand as the number
of operations ncreasc'
fire s x condition the developers would like to have deleted concerns
f
the irc truck access required to the property from Teer Road. The Orange
Grove Fire Department asked that the road be required so that the response
time to a fire alarm might be reduced.
The Planning Staff feels that the conditions as they existed on -
September 7, 1982, have not changed and therefore staff does not feel it
is necessary to Modify, amend or delete any of the conditions impb»ed on the
approval of the Special Use Pennir.
