The runway has been shifted slightly to allow all obstacle free zones <br /> and clear zones as per state guidelines to be contained within owned <br /> or easil controlled land, except for the sena!l wedge in Earnest <br /> Crawford's property. The runway has been shortened to 3800 feet <br /> long to accomodate this, with fiegfetect overrun safety areas remaining <br /> at the request of the developers. <br /> 2. The obstacle free zone from FAA Advisory Circular on Utility Airports <br /> is the following: <br /> Approach h OFZ: "begins. .. 200 feet from the runway approach <br /> threshold and extends 200 feet beyond the last tight unit in <br /> the I approach lighting system." <br /> Run i way OFZ: "extends 200 feet beyond each end of the run- <br /> way' and its width is.. . 250 feet. <br /> 1 <br /> 3. The clear zone from State of North Carolina guidelines begins 100 feet <br /> beyond the end of the runway and is 200 feet wide at that point and <br /> extends 1 to 300 feet wide at 1000 feet. <br /> 4. The T-hangars are typical modular units for aircraft storage and <br /> accompanying storage and upkeep facilities. <br /> 1 <br /> 5. The FBO and Maintenance hangars are for maintenance of aircraft <br /> and operations of the airport. Spaces in these buildings will include <br /> the following: <br /> a. !Large maintenance area for 2-3 aircraft <br /> b. Parts sales and service <br /> c. Radio sales and service <br /> d. Pilot ready room <br /> e. Lounge <br /> f. Concession area <br /> g. ;Office for aircraft manager and staff <br /> h. Courtesy offices for tenants and transients <br /> i. Car rental office (accompanying parking) <br /> j. Aircraft sales office <br />
