M P A. <br /> Director <br /> TO: County Commissioners <br /> County Manager <br /> FROM: Jerry Rolinson <br /> DATE: May 17, 1983 <br /> RE: Update on Wild Animals <br /> As of the 5 :00 pr, May 5th cut off date for application and issuance of a permit <br /> to keep a wild artimal(s) , .3 owners had furnished evidence of insurance coverage <br /> I <br /> and were issued permits . The permits are contingent upon meeting the caging <br /> standards (within 120 days) and paying the fees to be adopted by the Commissioners . <br /> Those owners were: <br /> 1 . Rod Farb Adult Tiger <br /> 2. Paul Modrich-Vickers Burdett Serval <br /> 3 . Lynn Moredock Jaguar <br /> Two other owners had called me prior to 5:00 PM, May 5th to say they were not <br /> going to apply fc?r a permit and were going to remove the animals from Orange <br /> County. Those owners were: <br /> 1. Charles Younger 2 boas and 1 python <br /> 2. Tim Green 4 tigers and 6 leopards <br /> In accordance with page 10, Section 6, Number 2, Civil Penalty clause of the <br /> 'Wild Animal Ordiinance' , I sent them a certified, return receipt letter on <br /> i <br /> May 6 - - copies of those letters were furnished the Commissioners. Secondly, <br /> in accordance wi lh page 11, Section 6, Number 3, Injunctive Relief, (a), I re- <br /> ported the two owner' s ordinance violation of failure to apply and receive a <br /> permit, in a memo to the Commissioners of May 6 , <br /> Mr, Younger was out of town until May 9th and did not receive his letter until <br /> that date. He called me on May 9th and reported that the snakes were being <br /> removed from Orange County that date . <br /> Mr. Greene received his letter on Saturday, May 7th, On May 10th I received <br /> a call from Kay Greene . We discussed (a) their needing to furnish me a copy <br /> of their insurance coverage, (b) their intent to remove all their wild animals <br /> from Orange Count by June 1st, and (c) that their inventory of wild animals <br /> as of that date consisted of 2 tigers cubs and 4 adult and 2 cub leopards . On <br /> May 16th, I receiyed a call from Kay Greene saying that their insurance documen- <br /> tation was available and that their present inventory of wild animals consisted <br /> of 2 tiger cubs, t adult and 2 cub leopards . On May 17th I received the Greene 's <br /> insurance statement and verified that they had been properly insured since prior <br /> to County regulation adoption. <br />
