WILD ANIMAL CONTROL <br /> Dr.I5° <br /> Dr Vickers Burdette read a statement to the Board (see page <br /> 16. of this book) objecting to the caging requirements for servals . Cnm- <br /> I?° suggested: <br /> that W1�lhnit suggeoted that the perimeter fence be waived <br /> 18. and a variance be granted for this particular serval . Mr. Rod Farb, <br /> 19. tiger owner, opposed the requirement for the concrete or gravel floor- <br /> 20. ing for the tigers. He said it is not a humane manner of caging for <br /> 21~ tigeru, it damages the paws and is unsanitary; that is , fecal material <br /> 22, cannot be removed from gravel and the location of the enclosure some <br /> 23° 4 mile from a water source makes the washing of the material from <br /> 2k. cnnceete impractical apart from the cruelty inherent in such a flour' <br /> 25" He said drainage would not be a problem in his case as the enclosure <br /> 26, is to be upon a hill in northern Orange. Mr. Jerry Robinson, Health <br /> 27. Mr. <br /> 32° Rubinson said the den may well meet the standards, he did not inspect <br /> ,,.the den at close range but would return and do so. Upon the advice <br /> 36.of nf the County Attorney, the Board chose to deal with extensions on an <br /> 37.individual individuol basis if needed. The Manager promised a status report at <br /> 38,ninety days on compliance with the caging standards. <br /> 39. <br />
