However,
because some landowners near the north end of Linden Road have refused
to sign granting a right of way, the paving of the entire road is on an
indefinite lhold. We understand the prospect for total paving is extremely
small.
The portioni of the road which is in the worst condition is that part
between Brigadoon Drive and Highway 70. While all must travel that
section of road a large percentage if not most of the traffic, turns
from Linden' Road going into Brigadoon. It would be of tremendous benefit
to all if the State would pave at least that portion of Linden Road which
goes to Brigadoon Drive. It would also be extremely beneficial to those
in Brigadoon if the State-maintained roads in Brigadoon were paved also.
Therefore, lie are submitting this petition to the Orange County Board of
Commissioners and are asking that you request the Department of Transportation
to reconsider the decision concerning Linden Road. Our request is that
Linden Roacyle paved at least as far as Brigadoon Drive and consideration
also be given to paving the State-maintained roads within Brigadoon.
We will be glad to provide any information or be of any assistance
necessary. Please let us know of your decision in this matter.
Sincerely,
Gladys S.
