EXT. 359 <br /> PURPOSE: Consider the April. 25, 1983 resolution of the Planning Board requesting the <br /> Board to reconsider the minimum.lot sizes and associated performance standards <br /> for design4ted protected watersheds as proposed in the recommendations Of the <br /> Water Resources Task Force. <br /> NEW; The Water Resources Task Force recommended, as one of sixteen recommendations, <br /> the following: <br /> Recommendation #12 Orange County should implement the following zoning <br /> districts and associated performance standards in <br /> protected watersheds: a minimum 2 acre residential <br /> lot size coupled with stormwater management require- <br /> , <br /> ments which will insure that the quality and guantity <br /> of run off from a site approximates the pre-develop- <br /> ment condition; a minimum 5 acre residential lot <br /> size without requiring stormwater management measures. <br /> For non-residential develbpments the ratio of impervious <br /> surfaces to gross land area should not exceed 0.25. <br /> The Planning Board recommended approval of this recommendation. <br /> The Board of County Commissioners revised and adopted this recommendation on <br /> August 23, 1982 as follows: <br /> . , <br /> • Orange County should Implement the following <br /> zoning districts and associated performance <br /> standards in protected watersheds. For non- <br /> residential developments the ratio of im- <br /> pervious surface to gross land area should <br /> not exceed 0.25. <br /> At their April 1, 1983 special meeting on economic development the Planning <br /> Board voted unanimously to request the BOCC to reconsider the reinstatement of <br /> lot size minimums.,and associated performance standards in designated protected - <br /> watersheds due to concerns regarding development Impacts on water quality in <br /> protected watersheds; - watershed protection is a critical unresolved issue <br /> that has impeded progress of fing. . <br />
