A <br /> • <br /> Ofltj <br /> Request for Proposals <br /> March 21, 1983 <br /> Page Six <br /> (7) Preparation of preliminary cost estimates for construction <br /> of reservoirs, including land acquisitions, construction, transmission <br /> and pumPIstations and operating and maintenance costs. <br /> - - - <br /> (8) Determine which reservoir should be developed and, if a <br /> combintatiollof reservoir projects permits the least , <br /> Cost/apprOval, the report must provide a "priority of <br /> construction" list for reservoirs in order to meet antici- <br /> pated long-term water requirements. <br /> (9) Recommendations for methods of financing reservoir <br /> development. <br /> (10) Recommendations far protecting water quality in reservoirs <br /> upon. consltruction. <br /> It is understood that Orange County will furnish whatever assistance it can in <br /> completing the-above studies in order to keep the costs minimal. Such assistance <br /> may take the form of,lbut not be limited to, furnishing maps, documents, plans , <br /> staff time, etc. and/or obtaining authority from property owners for permission <br /> to inspect property. <br /> 3. ADDITIONAL ENGINEERING SERVICES <br /> In addition to th services outlined in Section 2, the following additional <br /> services may be required, when and as deemed necessary by the County, through <br /> consultation withIthe Consulting Engineer for the orderly progress of the pro- <br /> ject improve.mentst <br /> If any of the following additional, services are ordered in writing by the <br /> County there shall be a supplemental agreement in writing between the County <br /> and the Consulting Engineer concerning the rates of pay and the estimated <br /> time and cost executed prier to the commencement of such work. Such additional <br /> work, if required j may include the following: <br /> 1. Prepare complete construction plans and specifications and provide <br /> sufficient do4uments requited for competitive bidding of any projects. <br /> 2. Work closely wiith the appropriate regulatory agencies and assist in <br /> securing approval of plans and specifications in an expeditious manner. <br /> 3. Provide assistance in advertising for bids, receiving bids, and <br /> recommending award of contracts. <br /> 4. Schedule and conduct pre-construction conferences. <br />
