Request Information Contact: Marvin Collins <br /> for Proposals; list of engineering <br /> firms <br /> Phone Nunter: (919) 732-8181, ext 349 <br /> PUBPCSE: To consider whether draft request-for-proposals adequately defines the scope of <br /> work desirled by the Board in its call for an engineering report on water/sewer and <br /> reservoir development feasibility. <br /> [ <br /> [ <br /> NEED: At its Janillary 4, 1983 meeting, the Orange County Board of Commissioners <br /> authorizedlthe County Manager to: <br /> 1) Have an engineering report prepared on the economic and engineering <br /> feasibility of expanding Corporation Lake and developing alternative <br /> reservoirs on the Eno River upstream from Corporation Lake. <br /> 2) Have an engineering report prepared on the extension of water <br /> and seer lines into Cheeks Township and to explore methods of <br /> financing such extensions. <br /> After compiling information regarding both areas of interest, and holding <br /> discussions with representatives of the Soil Conservation Service and the <br /> N. C. Department of Natural Resources and Community Development, the <br /> attached request-for-proposals was drafted for the Commissioner's consid- <br /> eration. <br /> IMPACT: Approval of the request-for-proposals would allow the staff to obtain <br /> proposals from engineering firms, evaluate them and present a recommen- <br /> dation to the Commissioners regarding which firm to employ for the project. <br /> A list of firms to which a request might be sent is included. <br />
