CALDIeLL FIRE DEPARTMENT--FIRST RESPONDER UNIT <br /> Eleven 11) active firemen with the Caldwell Fire department are part <br /> of a first esponder unit for EMS. Al]. of these people have taken the <br /> 45 hour First Responder course. Because of the distance involved between <br /> the Orange County Rescue Squad building and the Little River Fire District, <br /> these first responders are able to arrive on the scene and stablize <br /> the patient. Training is held once a month. <br /> The Fir t Responder unit has four motorola pagers and one pageboy, <br /> on the resc u; Th frequency with a separate tone. The unit is paged by <br /> I <br /> Orange Central Communications when there is, a call in the district. <br /> The unit is equipped with five(5) Trauma Kits and respond by private <br /> vehicle. <br /> II. CHAPEL. HILL. POLICE DEPARTMENT <br /> All Ch pel Hill Public Safety Officers are trained EMTs who are <br /> sent to all EMS calls in the town of Chapel Hill to assist South Orange <br /> Rescue Squad or to render first aid and life support until South Orange <br /> arrives to take over aid. <br /> 1 <br /> The dispatch of Public Safety Officers to EMS calls is handled by <br /> Orange Central Communications.
