Orazage County Rescue regularly provides Third Call backup cover- <br /> age and can provide additional units with proper nofication. <br /> Orange County Rescue Squad answered 2,069 calls in 1982: 1224 <br /> emergency calls , 300 transports for routinue purposes , and 545 cancelled <br /> or standby(lire) calls . <br /> Orange County Rescue Squad maintains a regular training program <br /> for its members , and participates actively in Orange County EMS training <br /> programs . <br /> II. South Orange Rescue Squad, Inc. <br /> South Orange Rescue Squad operates twenty-four hours a day, seven <br /> days a week from two bases in Orange County—one in Carrboro, at the <br /> Squad Building and the other, at the Chapel Hill Fire Station on Elliott <br /> _ Road. During the day, Orange County EMS employees (2-two person crews) <br /> are on call at the stations, providing the highest level of Paramedic <br /> coverage. At night and on week-ends, volunteers provide the same EMT-P <br /> coverage. At night and on week-ends, when three(3) ambulances are dis- <br /> patched, fourth call 'olunteers immediately go to the Squad Buildir;g and <br /> remain there until no longer needed. Volunteers can provide this back- <br /> up until all vehicles are in service. There is a Code III Team that <br /> responds to emergencies of a nature that would require heavy rescue <br /> l <br />
