It provides the Orange County Board of <br /> Elections with the option of establishing an office in Chapel <br /> Hill for the purpose of one-stop absentee voting provided that <br /> office has on-line computer access to the voter registration <br /> a information maintained in the Hillsborough office. I believe <br /> this will be a welcome convenience to residents of Southern <br /> Orange County, many of whom have spoken to me about it. <br /> T have disc ssed this proposal with Pat Carpenter, Chair of the <br /> Elections Board, and have sent her a copy of the draft. I have <br /> encouraged her to discuss it with that Board, and to be back in <br /> touch with me about it. .. <br /> Any expenseland arrangements for space , staff, equipment , etc. <br /> would invol 'e. the Board of Commissioners , as you know.
