ORANGE COUNTY C <br /> HOARD OF C SiTgSIONFRS Action Agenda <br /> ACTION AGENDA ITEM ABSTRhCP ite No. L 1 - <br /> MEETING DATE January 18, 1983 <br /> Subject: Section 8 Housing <br /> Department: oun y 'anager Public Hearing: _ yes TX no. <br /> Attachstent s : Information Contact: <br /> County Manager's Office <br /> Phone Number: 732-8181 ext. 501 <br /> PURPOSE: For the Board to approve an agreement between the County and the Chapel Hill <br /> Housing Authority for the administration by the Authority of the Section 8 <br /> Existing Housing Program and the Section 8 Moderate Rehabilitation Program, <br /> NEED: At its November 22, 1982 meeting, the County Board of Commissioners moved to <br /> contract with the Authority to administer the Section 8 Housing Programs for <br /> the period January 1 , 1983 through December 31 , 1983. <br /> Since that meeting, County staff has updated and revised the previously <br /> existing contract. The updated contract was approved by the Housing Authority <br /> Board at its January 11, 1983 meeting, <br /> IMPACT: Some features of the contract are <br /> - Submission by the Authority to the County of monthly financial reports of <br /> receipts and disbursements <br /> - Vesting of authority in the County Board of Commissioners to approve any <br /> amendments to the budgets of the Section 8 programs <br /> - Requirement that the Authority inventory all fixed assets acquired with <br /> Orange County Housing Assistance Payments Program Funds <br /> - Submission by the Authority to the County of copies of all correspondence <br /> with the U. S. Department of HUD pertaining to Section 8 <br /> 60 days termination clause <br /> - Requirement that the Housing Authority comply with provisions of the Local <br /> Government Budget and Fiscal Control Act <br /> RECOMMENDATION: As the Board decides. <br />
