It found that all <br /> standards were met except that the request was not in <br /> compliance with the Land Use Plan. <br /> The Board then reviewed the conditions which the Planning <br /> Department felt should be imposed on the request. <br /> All members agreed with the recommendations but felt <br /> that condition N4 should be expanded to include <br /> compliance with the recommendations of the NCDOT as <br /> stated in its letter of December 15, 1982. <br /> A question was asked concerning the need for lighting <br /> of the radio tower. <br /> Mr. Adams indicated that Piedmont Power Company <br /> would return for a subsequent approval of that structure <br /> as soon as specific plans for its installation were <br /> known. <br /> In regard to the lighting of the storage lot, Irvin <br /> moved, seconded by Walters, that tungsten incandescent <br /> lighting be utilized in .lieu of the proposed sodium vapor <br /> lighting. <br /> Crawford then stated that in case the Board of Commissioners <br /> wished to grant a special use permit to Piedmont Power as <br /> a. public utility, the Board needed to review the <br /> specific findings required in Section 8.8.3 of the <br /> Zoning Ordinance pertaining to such uses. <br /> After reviewing the findings, it was the consensus of the <br /> Board that the applicant complied with the required <br /> standards of compliance. <br /> MOTION: Kizer then moved that the minutes reflect that the <br /> application and site plan show that the standards of <br /> evaluation had been met by the applicant with the <br /> addition of the imposed conditions_ Irvin seconded the <br /> motion. <br /> VOTE; 8 in favor <br /> Abstained - Wilson. <br /> Crawford indicated to Mr. Adams that the Board's action <br /> did not reflect on the plans of the company. <br /> Mr. Adams indicated that the company is investigating <br /> the possibility of extending water and sewer to the site. <br />
