The Task Force presented its report Preserving Our Farms: Final. Re:- <br /> .•rt of the Oran-e Count A- icultural Task Force in 1981. The Board of County <br /> Commissioners approved the Report in principle and by official action in 1982 <br /> created the Implementation Committee of the Agricultural Task Force. The recom <br /> mendations of the Implementation Committee to the Board of County Commissioners <br /> follow: <br /> • That the Board of County Commissioners establish <br /> a policy or policies directed at the protection <br /> and preservation of agricultural lands and ac- <br /> tivities in Orange County. <br /> . That the Board of County Commissioners consider <br /> a farm preservation program for Orange County <br /> to be effective county--wide. <br /> . That the Board of County Commissioners hold a <br /> public hearing on the provisions of the farm <br /> preservation program to Orange County to obtain <br /> citizen input on the proposed program. <br /> . That the Board of County Commissioners contract <br /> for professional legislative drafting services <br /> to draft a local ordinance implementing the <br /> program, as well as the legislative changes <br /> required by the proposed program. <br /> .. That the Board of County Commissioners pursue <br /> this matter in the General Assembly to generate <br /> support and obtain approval of the legislative <br /> changes necessary to implement the proposed <br /> program. <br /> . That the Board of County Commissioners approve <br /> the farm preservation program in concept and <br /> adopt an ordinance to implement the program. <br /> • <br /> • <br />
