• <br /> M ' <br /> NORTH CAROLINA <br /> ORANGE COUNTY <br /> TO: The Board of Commissioners for Orange County, <br /> North Carolina: <br /> REQUEST TO CLOSE AN ABANDONED ROAD <br /> The undersigned, JOSEPH W. GARRARD, petitions the Board <br /> of Commissioners for Orange County, North Carolina, as follows: <br /> That there is shown on a certain plat recorded in Plat <br /> 2 Book 17, at page 21, of the Orange ,County Registry entitled <br /> u` <br /> a <br /> "Property of Earl and Joann Turner"as surveyed by Robert A. Jones. <br /> s Registered Surveyor, dated June 7, 1968,a certain road which is <br /> now abandoned, designated on said plat as "Old Cedar Grove Road"; <br /> and whereas said "Old Cedar Grove Road" as shown on said plat <br /> crosses the property of the undersigned; and whereas said abandonei <br /> A <br /> K <br /> road is no longer used for vehicular traffic or for other pur- <br /> poses; that to permanently close that portion of "Old Cedar Grove <br /> Road" more particularly described hereinafter would not be <br /> 1 contrary to the public interest, and that no person, firm, torpor <br /> ation or individual owning property in the vicinity of said "Old <br /> Cedar Grove Road" would be deprived of a reasonable means of <br /> ingress and egress to his property by the closing of such portion <br /> of said road; that it is to the best interest of the petitioner <br /> and of the general public that said abandoned road be closed and <br /> that the petitioner herein is the only owner of any property <br /> abutting said road; <br />
