Prior to making a decision regarding the appointments, <br /> the Board of County Commissioners intends to conduct interviews of the candidates, <br /> and the date of �_�� has been established for this purpose. <br /> The interviews will. be conducted in the Commissioners' Room in the Orange County <br /> Courthouse, "06 East Margaret Lane, Hillsborough, N. C. The time for your inter- <br /> view has been set for _. <br /> To assist you in preparing for the interview, a list of questions is <br /> provided below which will be asked of each candidate. These include the following: <br /> 1. What does the term "Economic Development" mean to you? <br /> 2. What do you think are the main benefits to be derived from an Economic <br /> Development Program in Orange County? <br /> 3. What role do you think the Commission should play in promoting economic <br /> developmen in the County? <br /> 4. The Economic Development Commission will ha ve a staff working for and <br /> with it, irjeluding an Economic Development Director. What qualities, <br /> education and experience do you feel the Director should have? <br /> 5. How do you 'feel, about growth in° general in Orange County? <br /> 6. What types of economic development activities (industries, commercial <br /> ventures, etc.) are most•'isvi.table for Orange County? <br /> 7. ghat population segments and geographic areas do you feel are in greatest <br /> need of economic development efforts? <br /> 8. What aspec of a prospective economic development activity; i.e. , wage <br /> rates, persinnel policies, affirmative action programs, day care oppor- <br /> tunities, etc. , do you feel should be considered in recruitment efforts? <br /> W 9. How do you feel about the use of County tax dollars to create job <br /> opportunities through financing utility extensions, payment of staff <br /> :salaries and expenses, etc? .. <br /> JO.
