• <br /> APPENDIX A (CONTINUED) <br /> Enclosures with tops or roofs shall have sides with a minimum height <br /> of eight (8) feet. Enclosure tops or roofs shall be constructed <br /> of not less than eleven (11) gauge, steel chain link fencing which <br /> sha€ I be attached securely to the enclosure sides and/or horizontal <br /> piping or crossbars by means of steel wire ties spaced at not more <br /> tha three (3) inch intervals. <br /> Enclosures without tops or roofs shall have sides with a minimum <br /> height of twelve (12) feet. At the top of the enclosure sides, there <br /> sha I be an overhang of four (4) feet in length, extending inward toward <br /> the cage interior, and forming an angle of forty-five degrees (450) <br /> with the enclosure sides. The overhang shall be constructed of <br /> not less than nine (9) gauge, steel chain link fencing which shall <br /> be attached securely to the enclosure sides and/or horizontal <br /> pip ng or crossbars by means of steel wire ties spaced not more than <br /> thr e (3) inches apart. <br /> i"oripurposes of structural integrity, no gaps of larger than two <br /> (2) inches shall be permitted between roof or top and side fencing, <br /> between enclosure poles and entrance gates into the enclosure, <br /> and between side fencing and ground or floor level . <br /> Every enclosure floor or base shall be constructed of concrete <br /> or shall be comprised of at least six (6) inches of crushed stone. <br /> Where a concrete floor is provided, fencing used for enclosure <br /> sid s shall be extended into and encased in the concrete to prevent <br /> the nimal from tunneling out, Where a crushed stone base is <br /> provided, the side fencing must be extended four (4) feet below <br /> the urface of the ground or secured at ground level by means of <br /> a horizontal crossbar or piping. Where side fencing is secured to <br /> a horizontal crossbar along the bottom of the enclosure, the fencing <br /> must be firmly secured with steel wire ties spaced not more than <br /> thre (3) inches apart. - <br /> (4) Safe y Doors Required. All primary enclosures shall have double <br /> safety doors which consists of a safety door providing access <br /> into a caged area from which entry is provided into the primary <br /> enclosure conatlning the animal (s) by means of another safety door. <br /> When human entrance is being made, the outer door must be securely <br /> closed and fastened before entrance is made through the inner door. <br /> When human entrance is not being made, both the inner and outer <br />
