12. The Ordinance requires that compatible land uses be <br /> located in the final approach areas of the airport. The evidence <br /> presented at the hearing indicates that the land use located in the <br /> final approach areas for the airport will be compatible with an airport <br /> of this size and scope provided the applicant can control the height of <br /> structures to the degree set forth in the special conditions. <br /> The following are the imposed conditions required of the <br /> applicant for approval of this special use permit: <br /> L There shall be no jet aircraft permitted at the facility <br /> and the Airport Facility Directory published by the U.S. Department of <br /> Commerce (N.O.S.) shall specify that jet aircraft are not permitted at <br /> the facility. The applicant/owner shall be responsible for notifying the <br /> U.S. Department of Commerce of this restriction and shall <br /> demonstrate compliance with this condition. <br /> 2. The applicant shall own or control-the-height-of objects <br /> in an area at each end of the runway which is known as the <br /> approach-departure zone. The dimensions of this zone are shown in <br /> the diagram below. The approach-departure zone begins 200' from the <br /> end of the runway and rises at a 20:1 slope to a height of 250' at a <br /> distance of 5000'. The zone is 500' in width at its beginning and 2000' <br /> in width at its end. The easement rights negotiated with each <br /> property owner must specify that the developer can control the heights— - <br /> of objects within the approach-departure zone.
