.4/00, A ,t1t) <br /> 00 'LI, <br /> c <br /> ORDINANCE REGULATING WILD ANIMALS IN CRAVEN COUNTY <br /> ARTICLE <br /> General <br /> 1 .1 <br /> NEED FOR ORDINANCE. Whereas, the Board of <br /> County Commissioners of Craven County finds <br /> and determines that certain residents of said <br /> county have possessed and harbored wild and <br /> dangerous animals, as hereinafter defined, in <br /> and about their premises; or on the premises <br /> of others; that such animals have not been <br /> properly secured by their owners or keepers, <br /> that such animals could cause personal injury <br /> and property damage while unsecured; and are <br /> dangerous to the general public, that such <br /> animals are inherently incapable of being <br /> domesticated; that such animals have not been <br /> properly cared for in accordance with accepted <br /> standards for such animals; and that <br /> possessing and harboring of such animals <br /> without regulation is dangerous to persons and <br /> property in Craven County and to the welfare <br /> of such animals. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, to regulate the possession and <br /> harboring of wild and dangerous animals, as <br /> hereinafter defined, and to abate the <br /> aforesaid dangers, the Board of County <br /> Commissioners does hereby ordain, establish <br /> and promulgate the following provisions: <br /> 1 . 2 <br /> CONFLICT WITH GENERAL STATUTES. No provision <br /> of this dinance shall be construed or <br /> applied in conflict with the provisions of <br /> North Carolina General, Statutes pertaining to <br /> the regulation of wildlife and wildlife <br /> resources . <br /> 1 .3 <br /> DEFINITIONS . <br /> a- Wild and Dangerous Animals: The term <br /> "wild and dangerous animals" shall <br /> include but not be limited to animals of <br /> the cat, bear, wolf family, including but <br /> not limited to mountain lion, cougar, <br /> puma, catamount, panther and lions and <br />
