OUTREACH TO FAM LAS AND LAN©WRDS <br /> Initially, staff me with agencies and groups throughout the county to explain the <br /> operation of the p �• - Newspaper articles and television coverage announced the <br /> beginning of the Rezital Assistance program. As anticipated, response was greater <br /> than staff could ma iage, so except for ongoing communication with Social Services <br /> agency staffs, on tation to any individual or group that requests that, no formal <br /> outreach has been ddc e. <br /> Applications are monitored for locality, race, income, bedroom size and family status <br /> to make sure there T no group or area that needs extra outreach effort. Applications <br /> are taken full time t the Chapel Hill Housing Authority Office and in Hillsborough <br /> by appointment. There is a Housing Counselor in the Hillsborough area half of each <br /> day, but not arrays Ln the office. Initially, applications s w taken on a weekly <br /> basis in other parts of the county. However, the Hillsborough location is the only <br /> location where enougi regu1 r interest wakes staff time reasonable. <br /> All program applicants are notified by postcard, of their eligibility and info. ad <br /> that their name has l a placed on a waiting list. <br /> 1 <br />
