page B of 9 <br /> North Carolina Board of Transportation <br /> The Board will maintain required inventories of traffic <br /> accidents, traffic, and major roads and highways and traffic <br /> control devices on the State High-way' bystem; provide financial <br /> and technical assistance in the periodic cooperative reevalua- <br /> tion of the transportation plan on a cost-sharing basis in <br /> accordance With Chapter 136, Article 3A, Section 136-66.2(a) <br /> North Carolina General Statutes; and to the fullest extent <br /> possible and as permitted by existing State and Federal <br /> regulations; will provide assistance in the protection of <br /> necessary rights-of-way for those thoroughfares designated in <br /> the transportation plan to be a State responsibility. <br /> Section 3. Parties to this Memorandum of Understanding <br /> may terminate their participation in the continuing transpor- <br /> tation planning process by giving 30 days written notice to <br /> the other parties prior to the date of termination. <br /> Section 4.
