Transportation policy decisions within the <br /> Planning Area are the responsibility of the <br /> Nbrth Carolina Board of Transportation, the <br /> Durham City Council, and the Durham County <br /> . , <br /> Board of Commissioners. <br /> 6. Tlo facilitate coordination and communication between <br /> the several policy boards and between the policy <br /> bards and agencies represented on a Technical Co- <br /> ordinating Committee hereinafter defined, a Transpor- <br /> tation Advisory Committee is hereby established with <br /> the responsibility of serving as an intermediary in <br /> keeping the policy boards informed of the status and <br /> requirements of the transportation planning process <br /> and to assist in the dissemination and clarification <br /> of the decisions, inclinations, and policies of the <br /> policy board. The Transportation Advisory Committee <br /> will also assist in the development of a coordinated <br /> mtltimodal transportation capital improvements pro- <br /> gram for the planning area. <br /> The Transportation Advisory Committee will consist '44--- <br /> of one or two members of each of the policy boards <br /> or their representatives. The Transportation Advisory <br /> COmmittee will meet as often as it is deemed appro- <br /> p4iate and advisable. On the basis of majority vote <br /> , of its membership, the Transportation Advisory <br /> i Committee may appoint a member of the Committee to <br /> 1 act as Chairperson with the responsibility for coor- <br /> f: dination of the Committee's activities. A member <br /> I of the staff of the Durham Planning Division will <br /> serve as secretary to the Committee. Mo0-11 <br /> 7. A 1Technical Coordinating Committee shall be <br /> established with the responsibility of general <br /> review, guidance, and coordination of the con- <br /> tinuing transportation planning process for the <br /> Planning Area and with the responsibility for <br /> mdking recommendations to the respective local <br /> and State governmental agencies regarding any <br /> necessary actions relating to the continuing <br /> transportation planning process. Membership <br /> of the Technical Coordinating Committee shall <br /> include technical representatives from all <br /> 10cal and State governmental agencies directly <br /> related to and concerned with the transportation <br /> planning process for the Planning Area.
