MEMBERSHIP <br /> Membership on the Planning Board shall be governed by <br /> the terns of Chapter 153-A,of the General Statutes of <br /> North Carolina end the Orange County Zoning Ordinance. <br /> B. NDANCE. <br /> 1) Any members of the Board lobo miss more than three <br /> consecutive meeting (monthly meeting on the third <br /> Monday) or public hearings, or who miss more than <br /> one-half of the meetings in a calendar year, for <br /> something other than an approved absence as deter- <br /> mined by the Chair, may lose their status as member <br /> of the Board and may be replaced by the Hoard of <br /> of Cannissioners. <br /> 2) Absence due to sickness, death of an itmid1ate family <br /> member, professional leave, or other valid reason <br /> shall be considered approved absence and: shall not <br /> affect the member's status. <br /> 3) In the event of a long illness or other cause for <br /> prolonged absence, the member may be replaced. <br /> ARTICLE TV - AEPT_NISTRATION <br /> A. The Orange County Planning DeparUff.ent shall serve as staff to the <br /> Planning Board. <br /> B. The expenditures of the Board, exclusive of gifts, shall be within <br /> the amounts appropriated for that purpose by the Orange County Board <br /> 4 <br /> of Commissioners. <br /> C.
