<br /> NEED.: The Board qf Commissioners approved zoning of Chapel Hill Township in 1967,
<br /> Eno' in 1970;and Hillsborough and Bingham in 1981. Extension of zoning to .
<br /> Cheeks Tow4hip was delayed to allow more time for consideration of water- '
<br /> shed protection measures. In general, the recommendations of the Water
<br /> Resources Task Force have been adopted or modified and adopted by the County
<br /> Cannissionei7s. The proposed changes to the Land Use Plan which went to Public
<br /> ;
<br /> i, Hearing on September 27, 1982 address the concerns of the Cheeks Township
<br /> Advisory Codmcil. ' .

<br /> held by the Poard of County Commissioners and Planning Board on September
<br /> 27, 1982. '

<br /> The Commissioners also requested that members of the Planning Board be present at

<br /> I IMPACT: Extension ot zoning to Cheeks will provide a means of protecting the water-,
<br /> / sheds that lie within the Township. It will also control the development
<br /> of incosnpat Ile land uses and the public costs associated with such develop-
<br /> ment.

<br /> RECCINEIWATION: tile Planning Zoard:at the Octobdr' 18, 1982 meeting recommended
<br /> the following: Shanklin motioned to delay extension of
<br /> zoning ordinance until after a decision is made on the propose(
<br /> ame 'dments to the Land Use Plan are in place. The motion
<br /> was seconded by lialter•s. The vote was unanimous.
<br /> Thei Planning Staff recommends extension of zoning to Cheeks
<br /> Township.
