Box 967
Chapel Hill , N.C. 27514
Ow: Application for Payment Number 18
Orange County Jail Facility
Hillsborough, N.C.
Project Number: 7503-08, File: E-2, A-2
Dear Mr. Setzer:
In reference to your letter dated 25 October 1982, concerning the reduction
of the retainage please he advised that this is a contracture! matter and
should be taken up directly with the owners, i .e. Orango County Commissionors.
In order for this to take place an amendment to the original contract would
have to be prepared and signed by the County and Security Building Company.
We personally have no objections to the reduction of the rotainage.
However, since we have no authority to process en application with require-
ments that are less than stipulated in the current contract between Security
Building Company and -the County we must process shat application that is in
proper order. Therefore, we are sending, approved, your application number
18 to Mr. Laws along with a copy of this letter for his information. Should
you not wish the County to process this application you will need to call Mr.
Laws and discuss the smelter with him. In order to expedite and cu out the
middle ground there is no need for you to seek approval from us but rather
deal directly with Orange County Government.
I hope this explanation is satisfactory to you and Mr. LiWs and I wait to
hear from the County.
elr)
X-Fe-
if/ io . h L.
