GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF 'MATH CAROLINA SESSION 19 <br /> 1 Assembly that community advisory committees work to maintain the <br /> 2 spirit Of the 13omiciliary Home Residents' Rill of Bights within <br /> 3 the licensedIdomiciliary homes in this State. It is the further <br /> 4 intent of the General Assembly that the committees promote <br /> 5 community inolvement and cooperation with domiciliary homes to <br /> 6 ensure quality care for the elderly and disabled adults. <br /> 7 (b) Establishment and Appointment of Committees. Counties are <br /> 8 <br /> encouraged tojestablish a Domiciliary Home Community Advisory <br /> 9 <br /> Committee in each county which has at least one licensed 1— <br /> 10 domiciliary home. The committee shall serve all the hones in the <br /> IL county, and shall work with each home for the best interests of <br /> 11 <br /> the persons residing in each home. Each committee shall be <br /> 13 appointed bythe Board of County Commissioners. The size of the <br /> committee, the makeu. of its members, and the length of their <br /> 15 terms will be left to the discretion of the County Commissioners. <br /> 16 It is desirab.i.e for County Commissioners to have input from all <br /> 17 interested Parties, including the local domiciliary home <br /> 18 operators regarding the appointment of the committees. Each <br /> 19 county shalal have the necessary flexibility in appointing <br /> 20 committee memJers. Existing advocacy committees such as the <br /> ,21___Hursing. Home 1 community Advisory committees may be utilized for <br /> 22 this purpose. <br /> 23 (c) minimum Qualifications for Appointment. Each member must <br /> 24 be a resident of the county which the committee serves. No <br /> 25 person or immediate family member of a person with a financial <br /> 26 interest in al home served by a committee, or employee or <br /> 27 governing board member of a home served by a committee, or <br /> 28 <br /> 10 House Bill 1098 <br />
