WHEREAS,Sheriff Knight was re-elected in 1966.1970,1974.and 1976;and. WHEREAS,during that almost quarter of a century Sheriff Knight has amassed an impressive record of service to his County and his neighbors.serving as a leader and outstanding example for the Boy Scouts of America;and WHEREAS,Sheriff Knight hos been a leader in the drive to obtain increased benefits for law enforcement personnel in North Carolina;and. WHEREAS,be repeatedly demonstrated that progressive leadership during his years of service on the Executive Committee of the North Carolina Sheriffs Association;and, WHEREAS,he was acknowledged by his peers in€971 by his election,to the Presidency of that Association;and, WHEREAS.Governor Bob Scott recognized his abilities and appointed him. in 1969.to the Stare Task Force on Law Enforcement Personnel. NOW,THEREFORE.BE IT RESOLVED by the Orange County Board of Commissioners,acting for all citizens of Orange County,that it does Commend Sheriff C D.'Buck'Knight for his faithful service to his County.State and Neighbors.and for his able leadership and dedication to duty, AND,BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED,drat it does with for Sheriff Knight all possible hoppiness in the years ahead,and directs this Resolution be presented to Sheriff Knight,with a copy sent to the press and this Resolution be spread upon the Mhsutes of this meeting.this 16th day of November,19€12. y!' glF.:' :
