Smith con- <br /> tinued with a presentation on the proposed amendments to the Land Use Plan. <br /> These armaments included the addition of a cormerciaVindustrial transitirxx aativitv <br /> node at Edland 'and extension Of the ten and twenty ear tranSationarea around <br /> EMand. &mith also presented information cm the acreage and possible popula- <br /> tion density for these areas. <br /> General discussion followed the presentations covering the function and location <br /> of the activityl nodes; the availability of industrial sites along the I 85-US 70 <br /> corridor; okoanded residential development; the Liiclihooxt location, and impact <br /> of the extension of sewer and water Liles along US 70; the 201 Plan for Hills- <br /> borough; the impact of recommendaticrs in the Water Pasottroes Task Force Report; <br /> and the suitability of the corridor for prime industrial and ccrue.rcial develop- <br /> ment. <br /> Lindsay Mend Ind Bill Dorsett indicated that the proposed amendments to the <br /> Transition <br /> areas were more in line with the TAC's original proposal before the <br /> Land Use Plan was adopted and would appear tote satisfactory. <br /> The Township Advisory Council renters expressed a concensus that the activity . <br /> node concept along the 1-85/US 70 corridor was an unlikely idea and should be <br /> deleted foam the corridor.
