Willing Road (SR 1120). The <br /> existing ten year transition area would be extended south of Efland to include the <br /> area bounded on the north by the ridgeline dividing the McGowan Creek and Seven <br /> Mile Creek sub-basins, on the east by Dewey Road (SR 1146) and West Ten Road (SR 1144), <br /> on the south Seven Mile Creek, and on the west by Watson Road (SR 1320) and <br /> Thompson Road (SR 1377). The existing twenty year transition area west of Efland <br /> would be e , ed to include an area bounded on the north by 1-85, Industrial Drive <br /> (SR 1374) and the ridgeline dividing Seven Mile Creek and McGowan Creek sub-basins, <br /> on the east bye Watson Road (SR 1320) and Thompson Road (SR 1377), on the south by <br /> Bowman Road ( R 1142) and West Ten Road (SR 1144), and on the west by Rock Quarry <br /> Road (SR 1143) . <br /> A joint public hearing on the proposed amendments to the adopted Land Use <br /> Plan for Cheek Township was held by the Board of County Commissioners and Plan- <br /> ning Board on eptember 27,neACT: _. <br /> prop ed amendment tb the Plan would add an additional 245 acres of potential <br /> land for industrial and commercial development in Cheeks Township. Together with <br /> the three existing commercial/industrial activity nodes already designated in the <br /> Cheeks Plan, a potential total of approximately 1000 acres would be designated fir <br /> this type of development. The residential transition areas have also been increased <br /> in the Plan and these higher density areas would call for public sewer and water <br /> in much of central Cheeks Township. <br /> ECOMMENDATIONS I.The Cheeks Township Advisory Council on September 7, 1982, held a meeting and <br /> heard a Staff presentation on the proposal. Lindsay Efland, a member of the <br /> Advisory Council, made the following motions: <br /> MOTION 11 That the Cheeks Township Advisory Council approve the <br /> extension of the ten and twenty year transition areas <br /> as defined and presented by the Planning Staff. <br /> No discussion <br /> VOTEt Unanimous <br /> MOTION 2: That industrial development be permitted anywhere within <br /> the I-85/US 70 corridor and on either side of the corridor <br /> as defined by the transition area boundaries and extend as <br /> far east as the Cheeks/Hillsborough Township lines and not <br /> be limited only to specific areas. <br />
