764 -r <br /> 081 <br /> Planning Board Subcommittee <br /> Proposal 9/30/82 <br /> Planning Board Proposal <br /> 10/18/82 <br /> PROPOSED PROCEDURES FOR AMENDING <br /> THE LAND USE PLAN <br /> PURPOSE <br /> The Orange County Land Use Plan (Plan) was adopted by the Board <br /> of Commissioners on September 2 , 1981. The act of adoption formalized <br /> the Plan text and map as County policy in land use matters. The Plan <br /> will need to be amended from time to time to reflect changing condi- <br /> tions in the County. This document proposes procedures by which the <br /> Plan will be amended. <br /> REASONS FOR AMENDMENTS <br /> The Plan may be amended for the following reasons: <br /> a) because of changed or changing conditons in a particular <br /> area or areas of the County; <br /> b) to correct an error or omission in the Plan; <br /> c) in response to a change in land use policy. <br /> SOURCES OF AMENDMENTS <br /> Proposed amendments to the Plan may originate from: <br /> a) the Board of Commissioners; <br /> b) the Planning Board; <br /> c) an amendment application made by any person or agency. <br /> WHEN AMENDMENTS MAY BE CONSIDERED <br /> Until September 2, 1983 amendments to the Plan will be considered <br /> at the regularly scheduled quarterly public hearings. A rezoning re- <br /> quest may be considered at the same time as a reauested amendment to <br /> the Plan.. After September 2, 1983, amendments to the Plait shall be <br /> considered once a year at the quarterly, joint public _hearing in Feb- <br /> ruary and no' rezoning request shall be considered in conjunction with <br /> a land use plan amendment for the same property. <br /> REFERRAL OF AMENDMENTS <br /> Amendments proposed by the Board of' Commissioners or the Planning <br /> Board or an amendment application made by a person or agency shall be <br /> referred to the Orange County Planning Department. Amendment applica- <br /> tions should contain a description of the changed or changing condi- <br /> tions which justify the requested change, or the error or omission in <br /> the Plan which the amendment seeks to correct, or the changed land <br /> use policy which necessitates an amendment. <br />
