' The
Planning Board expressed concern about project specific amend-
ments to the Land Use Plan and unanimously adopted a motion at
their September 20, 1982 meeting which states:
Whereas the Planning Board believes
the amendment of the Land Use Plan
in the context of specific develop-
. ment proposals precludes considera-
tion of the optimal Land Use Plan for .,.:
the entire County.
Whereas there are technical problems
. with the consideration of Land Use
Plan amendments and development pro-
posals in the same meeting.
Whereas the Planning Board has estab-
lished a committee to recommend policies
for Land Use Plan amendments by the
November Planning Board meeting.
Therefore the Planning Board recommends
that until the end of 1982 a moratorium —
be placed oh the consideration of Land
Use Plan amendments in conjunction With
related development proposals.
■
IMPACT: The Planning Board has established a sub-committee to consider
an amendment policy for the Land Use Plan composed of Dr.
Gordon, Dr, Irvin and Mr. Walters. The staff has prepared a
draft amendment policy for review by the sub-committee. Approv
of the moratorium would preclude consideration of any future de' ,op
ment proposal requiring amendment to the Land Use Plan until
an amendment policy has been formulated and adopted.
FIECONNENDATION: As the Board decides,
. *.:
. .
. _
, •
' .
