Illorp. m-a -r- 732-8181 <br /> PURPOSE: To receive citizen input and comments on the extension of the Zoning <br /> ,Ordinance to Cheeks TownShip, <br /> The Board of Commissioners approved zoning of Chapel Hill Township in <br /> 1967, Eno in 1970 and Hillsborough and Bingham in 1981. Extension of <br /> zoning to Cheeks Township was delayed to this point to allow more time <br /> for considering watershed protection measures. <br /> A Public Hearing concerning extension to Cheeks Township was held • <br /> October 6, 1931, . Some of the recommendations of the Water Task Force <br /> Report have already been adopted and others will be discussed at this <br /> meeting. <br /> Previous Planning Board recommendations were to delay application of <br /> zoning to Cheeks Township. These recommendations were made on <br /> December 30, 1980 and October 19, 1981. <br /> INPACT: Zoning is a means of property protection either within or outside of <br /> a watershed. It enables growth take place in those areas that are <br /> best suited to handle it. Moreover, it permits a blending of new land <br /> uses with those already in existence. <br /> Cheeks Township contains watersheds which are the sources of drinkable <br /> water supply.
