IN'cryber: 732-8181 EXT. 346 <br /> PURPOSE DD consider the proPosed arp_ndments to the adopted Land Use Plan for Cheeks <br /> Township. <br /> The proposed amendments tri. the Land Use Plan would add a Corare. rcial/industrial <br /> transition activity node centered on the intersection of 1-85 and !'t. iliLlincr <br /> Road (SR 1120) . The existing ten year transition area would be extended south <br /> of Efland to include the area bounded on the north by the ridgeline dividing <br /> the Iv'ca:Jwan Creek and Seven !‘,Iile Creek sub-basins, on the eat by Dewey Road <br /> (SP. 1146) and West Ten Road (SR 1144) , on the south by Seven Mile Creek,and <br /> on the west by Watson Road (SR 1320) and Thompson Road (SR 1377). The existing _ <br /> twenty year transitiOn area west of Efland would be extended to include an <br /> area bounded on the north by 1-85,Industrial Drive (ER 1374) and the ridge- <br /> line dividing Seven Mile Creek and :''cGowen Creek sub-basins, on the east by <br /> s7atson Road (SR 1320) and Thompson Road (ER 1377), on the south by Bowman Road <br /> (SR 1142) and West Ten Road (SR 1144), and on the west by Rock Quarry Road <br /> (SR 1143) . <br /> 1/TACT: The proposed amendment to the Land Use Plan would add an additional 2794 acres <br /> of transition area and approximately 245 acres appropriate for commercial and <br /> industrial activity. The amendment would address concerns of Cheeks Township _ <br /> residents regarding the availability of development areas. <br /> RECOPF.EMPTION: The Planning Staff r.ecormends approval. <br />
