1 <br /> BY-LAWS <br /> OF <br /> I <br /> ORANGE COUNTY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION <br /> ARTICLE I <br /> Section lei Name. The name of the organization shall be the Orange <br /> County Economic Development Corporation. <br /> Section 2: Se al. The corporation shall have a seal in <br /> the appropriate <br /> form, which shall bear the legend "Orange County Economic Development <br /> Corporation, North Carolina, 1982." The seal shall be kept by the <br /> Secretary.) <br /> Section 3. Purpose. The purpose for which the corporation is formed <br /> is to promote new and expanded business and industrial development for <br /> Orange County, to serve as the central coordinating agency for all public <br /> and private efforts in Orange County to improve the general economy, to <br /> broaden the opportunities for greater employment and job training, and <br /> to extend assistance to any person, firm or corporation seeking to <br /> invest in the economy of Orange County. <br /> Section 4. Offices. The initial registered office of the corporation <br /> is 104 South Estes Drive, Chapel Hill, North Carolina. The corporation <br /> may have such other offices as the Board of Directors may designate or <br /> as the affairs of the corporation may require in order to carry out the <br /> purposes sei t forth herein. <br /> ARTICLE II <br /> Board of Directors <br /> Section 1. !General. The business and affairs of the corporation shall be <br /> managed by its Board of Directors, each of whom shall be of legal age. <br /> Section 2. 'Number and Tenure. The Board of Directors shall consist of <br /> seventeen (17) members who shall be appointed by and serve at the pleasure <br /> of the appointing body, each being appointed as follows: four (4) members <br /> appointed by the Orange County Conmissioners, four (4) members appointed by <br /> Greater <br /> theAChapel Rill/Carrboro Chamber of Commerce, four (4) members appointed by <br /> the Carrboro Economic Development Corporation, and one (1) member each <br /> (1) <br />
