Medium- and high-density residcncial housinu_ and <br /> commercial and industrial development in the lipur Eno wateThscd skould <br /> be directed to the McGowan Creek sub-basin. Strict water-quality related <br /> standards should be imposed on development in the McGowan Creek water- <br /> shed. Development should not be promoted in the Seven Mile Creek sub- <br /> basin and any industry which does propose to locate in that watershed <br /> should be able to show that it will not have any impact on water qualits: <br /> If development intensifies in the McGowan Creek sub-basin the water <br /> quality in Lake Den Johnson and Corporation Lake should he monitored <br /> Any decrease in water quality which does occur may necesitrite either <br /> moving the intake pipes of the Orange-Alamance water syst.. Is and the <br /> Town of Hillsborough upstream of the confluence of McGowan Creek and <br /> the Eno River or an earlier development of Seven Mile Creek reservoir <br /> than might be necessary based on water demand alone. <br /> PLANNING BOARD ACTION: <br /> Kizer motioned that the recommendation be approved with the addition of <br /> the watershed areas fro reservoir sites 17 and 18 which were added in <br /> an earlier motion.
