The Program outlined in the Task <br /> Force Report and drafted as the Orange County Farm Preservation <br /> Program e ntains a number of provisions requiring amendment to the <br /> General Statutes. These provisions include: 1) less than use <br /> value assessment of farm property; 2) waiver of assessment or fee <br /> for water/Isewer extensions; 3) mandatory public hearings on public <br /> projects and proposed use of eminent domain powers; 4) assessment <br /> of attorney's fees to plaintiffs in frivolous nuisance suits; 5) <br /> no loss of eligibility status in farmer to farmer land transfers of <br /> participating bona fide farm units. <br /> IMPACT: Directives from the Board will guide Committee Activities during the <br /> fall and winter months.
