33t,-• <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING A FRANCHISE TO <br /> VILLAGE CABLE OF ORANGE COUNTY, INC.. <br /> TO CONSTRUCT AND MAINTAIN <br /> A CABLE TELEVISION SYSTEM, <br /> WITHIN THE UNINCORPORATED AREAS <br /> OF ORANGE COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA <br /> THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF ORANGE COUNTY, <br /> NORTH CAROLINA ORDAINS: <br /> Section IX of the Franchise Ordinance is amended to suspend <br /> until August 17, 198 4 the requirement that fully activated security <br /> services (as described in the proposal of Village Cable of Orange County, <br /> Inc., Sections I and L) be provided within eighteen (18) months of the <br /> affective date (January 26, 1981) of the franchise. ordinance. In the <br /> interim, Orange County, the Town of Chapel Lill and Village Ceble shall <br /> study cable home security services, the technology available and other <br /> pertinent data in order to recommend to the Orange County Board of <br /> Commissioners a system or service with a high level of reliability and <br /> which is affordable by subscribers which system or service may be <br /> substituted by Village Cable and provided to its subscribers on or before <br /> August 17, 1984. <br /> Nothing in this amendment relieves Village Cable of °rang::: <br /> County, Inc. of its obligation to provide fully activated security serviceas described in its proposal. This ordinance amendment alters only the <br /> delivery date of the service and puts in place a mechanism to study <br /> alternatives. <br /> This ordinance amendment shall take effect immediately this <br /> 17th day of August, 193 2, it having been adopted at two (2) regular <br /> meetings of the Board of Commissioners of Orange County, North <br /> Carolina as provided by law. <br />
