POLICY FOR PAVING RURAL ROADS <br /> By PROPERTY OWMERS $ PARTICIPATION <br /> The Board of Transportation will review requests to allow <br /> certain rural* secondary -roads, which have priorities such- that <br /> they will not be paved., to be paved by the. property owners sharing, <br /> in the cost. The eligible roads will be those priorities in each <br /> county which fall within 10% of the counties unpaved secondary road <br /> aileage or the next 20 roads in priority, fracm the last priority <br /> approved for paving in the annual program, whichever is greater. <br /> As roads On the priority list are approved for paving Or Paving is <br /> not possible due to right-of-way problems or excessive cost, they <br /> will not be used in computing the 10% mileage or as being in the <br /> a <br /> top 2o-priorities. For ex=ple: if a county has 20 eligible road4 <br /> .4 <br /> and the first two priorities are approved for paving, then prior- <br /> ities 21 and 22 would become eligible. <br /> The cost to the property owners will be determined after the <br /> of the road is known. The Depart estimated cost for the pavia, <br /> of Transportation's cost will be $8.00 per centerline foot for rot <br /> that cost $12.00 per centerline foot and for roads that cost more <br /> than $12.00 per centerline foot.
