Thompsc <br /> Yes- Phone arober: 732-8181 ext. 501 <br /> PURPOSE: To set tax rate for Damascus Fire District after the referendum as of <br /> June 29. <br /> NEED: In April the Board of Commissioners called for a referendum to be held <br /> on the creation of the Damascus Fire District. This was held on June 29, <br /> 1982. <br /> The Board of Commissioners adopted the County budget on June 22, 1982. <br /> The Board scheduled a special meeting to set the tax rate for Damascus <br /> Fire District, contingent upon passage of the referendum. <br /> Upon certification of the referendum results by the Board of Electionsi. <br /> the Commissioners should, if the referendum has passed, set the tax rate <br /> $.04. as recommended by the Damascus Fire District Board of Trustees. <br /> IMPACT: Contingent upon the passage of the referendum, setting the tax rate and <br /> the signing of the contract with the North Chatham Volunteer Fire Depart- <br /> ment this district will begin to receive fire protection. <br />
