�� <br /> ���� <br /> _ _ - <br /> MINUTES <br /> JUNE 22, 1982 <br /> The Orange County Board of Commissioners met in special session on <br /> Tuesday, June 22, 1982, at 7:30 P.M. in the Commissioners' Room, Orange County <br /> Courthouse, Hillsborough, North Carolina. <br /> Commissioners present: Chairman Richard E. Whitted, and Commissioners Norm <br /> Gustaveson, Shirley E. Marshall, Norman Walker and Don uillhoit' <br /> Chairman Whitted presided over the special meeting called for the purposes <br /> as specified in these Minutes. <br /> A. Budget Amendments <br /> Commissioner Nillhoit moved, seconded by Commissioner Gustaveson, approval <br /> of the budget amendments as recommended by the Manager (those amendments are <br /> on pages of these Minutes). Vote: Ayes, 5; noes, O. <br /> B. Jordan Lake Allocation <br /> Commissioner Willhoit said any allocation request submitted by the County <br /> should be based on our Planning Department's ten year intervals estimate. <br /> Commissioner Willhoit moved, seconded by Commissioner Marshall , to authorize <br /> the Chair to write the letter to the State requesting an allocation of water from <br /> the Jordan Lake Reservoir on behalf of the entire County. Vote: Ayes, 5; noes, O. <br /> (A copy of the letter submitted is on file in the Clerk's Office under this heading.) <br /> C. Adoption of the Fiscal 1982-83 Budget for Orange County <br /> Chairman Whitted introduced Representative Anne C. Barnes who reported on <br /> General Assembly activities of special interest to Orange County. Representative <br /> Barnes said the General Assembly had ratified the Appropriations Bill today and <br /> passed two "special Bills which directly benefit two Orange County projects." <br /> Representative Joe Hackney's Bill which provides svRport to the Dispute Settlement <br /> Center in Orange County in the amount of $24,000 and Representatfve'8arnes` Bill <br /> requesting a Grant in Aid from the State on a matching 50-50 basis from the County <br /> to assist in the restoration of the Old Courthouse in the amount of $25,080 were <br /> both passed by the General Assembly on this date, <br /> Chairman Whitted thanked Representative Barnes for her and Representative <br /> Hackney's efforts on behalf of the County. <br /> Commissioner Marshall reported to the Board on the way $16,000, placed in <br /> contingency the previous year for Child Protective Services was spent, saying <br />
