The team cared for a group of animals that were being <br /> 8 sheltered for people housed at the Red Cross Shelter on the same elevated college campus <br /> 9 and coordinated with pet owners to assure the welfare of the animals. The team started with 48 <br /> 10 animals in their care and 27 animals still remained when the group was relieved by another pet <br /> 11 colocation team. <br /> 12 <br /> 13 During Hurricane Matthew, Emergency Services staff from the Divisions of Emergency Medical <br /> 14 Services (EMS) and Emergency Management (EM) were dispatched to respond to the needs of <br /> 15 other North Carolina counties. The EMS team consisted of: <br /> 16 • Austin Muench <br /> 17 • Robert Crouch <br /> 18 • Jennifer Temple <br /> 19 • Nicholas Bachman <br /> 20 <br /> 21 This group worked as a Strike Team staffing ambulances and responding to calls in Robeson <br /> 22 County. This team also delivered highway message boards to the Brunswick County, North <br /> 23 Carolina area under the direction of Emergency Management. <br /> 24 <br /> 25 The Emergency Management team consisted of: <br /> 26 • Kirby Saunders <br /> 27 • Josh Hollingsworth <br /> 28 <br /> 29 These individuals effectively managed the deployment of resources to the flood affected areas <br /> 30 and were both deployed as members of the Incident Management Team to serve in Robeson <br /> 31 County and the Regional Coordination Center. <br /> 32 <br /> 33 County and Municipal Fire and Rescue Departments also served other North Carolina <br /> 34 communities during Hurricane Matthew. Those providing fire and rescue services during <br /> 35 Hurricane Matthew were: <br /> 36 • Orange Rural Fire Department <br /> 37 • Chapel Hill Fire Department <br /> 38 • South Orange Rescue Squad <br /> 39 <br /> 40 There were also multiple County and Municipal Fire Departments involved in fighting the <br /> 41 Western North Carolina Wildfires including: <br /> 42 • Orange Rural Fire Department <br /> 43 • Chapel Hill Fire Department <br /> 44 • Carrboro Fire-Rescue-add names <br /> 45 • Cedar Grove Fire Department <br /> 46 • Efland Fire Department <br /> 47 • New Hope Fire Department. <br /> 48 <br /> 49 Carrboro Fire-Rescue Department <br />
