Mr. Baucom is an active member of the downtown Rotary Club and the K��nis <br /> Club. <br /> Mike Carson, former Chapel Hill Southern Bell Manager, was also active Youth In 1900-81 Mr. Carson served as -"~ `Orange County District n of the Scouting Program. <br /> Southern Bell employees are active with the Orange County Association <br /> of Retarded Citizens. <br /> The employees union sponsors an annual fish fry raising money for the <br /> Association for Retarded Citizens. <br /> The employees have been pace setters in the past three United Way Campaigns <br /> Southern Bell has sponsored blood donation drives for employees, <br /> Schools: Many educational courses are offered by S Bell in the School <br /> Systems for all grades. Active participation with science and history fairs <br /> in the elementary schools. <br /> Employees also participate in job fairs and career days at local schools and <br /> have sponsored separate careers programs for mimnrites. <br /> Local theatrical and playmaker groups often call on S Bell to donate <br /> equipment for productions. <br /> S. <br /> An educational film library is available to public groups free of charge. <br /> Management has been active in fund raising for the YMCA.In 1980 S Bell <br /> representatives participated in the Capital Improvements Fund Drive for the Y. <br />
