Additionally, two (2) members of the OUTBoard were appointed to a <br /> Bicycle Safety Task Force (BSTF) along with sixteen other people representing <br /> stakeholder groups. The BSTF met three (3) times in 2016, and the three (3) <br /> subcommittees of the Task Force met a total of five (5) times. <br /> Brief Statement of Board/Commission's Assigned Charge and <br /> Responsibilities: <br /> 1. The OUTBoard is charged with advising with Board of County Commissioners <br /> on the planning and programming of transportation infrastructure <br /> improvements and other County transportation planning initiatives, as <br /> directed by the Board <br /> 2. From time to time the OUTBoard may be directed to provide input on <br /> regulations on which the Planning Board has primary statutory and local <br /> ordinance advisory duties. In such instances, the OUTBoard shall serve in an <br /> advisory capacity to the Planning Board. <br /> What are your Board/Commission's most important accomplishments? <br /> In 2016, the OUTBoard has: <br /> 1. Jointly addressed transit topics relating to Orange Public Transportation <br /> (OPT), with supplemental staff from other County departments (Aging; <br /> DSS; Housing, Human Rights and Community Development; Health; Child <br /> Support Enforcement; and the Library: <br /> a. Reviewed and provided comments on the OPT Quarterly Operational <br /> Statistics, including Orange County ridership data 2014-2016. <br /> b. Received and provided comments on an update of the Orange County <br /> Bus and Rail Investment Plan (OCBRIP). <br /> c. Reviewed the OPT Five-Year Plan for Bus Replacement, including <br /> financial assumptions, and provided comments. <br /> d. Reviewed and recommended prioritization of improvements for <br /> proposed new bus stops for OPT route expansions. <br /> e. Reviewed and commented on the status of OPT expansion services, <br /> including new services started, bus purchase options, and vehicles <br /> already received. <br /> f. Received an update on the OPT Assessment Study which analyzed <br /> current conditions, service plans, and organization and staffing, and <br /> near-term service improvements to provide improved service. <br /> g. Reviewed and commented on how information on transit barriers can <br /> best be collected, and development of strategies for addressing. <br /> h. Reviewed and commented on the replacement proposal for the North <br /> Hills Shopping Center Park-and-Ride in north Hillsborough. <br /> 2 <br />
